Original 1227 Floor Lamp
[George Carwardine]
Description
The Anglepoise Original 1227 Floor Lamp is a lamp with two movable arms. The lamp arms can be readjusted at any time using tension spring technology and remain in any set position. The lamp shade can be tilted and rotated. The tension spring technology used for this lamp was developed in the 1930s by industrial designer George Carwardine for the British manufacturer and is still used today for numerous Anglepoise lamps.
This floor lamp is available in jet black, dove grey and linen white. For each version, lamp shade, lamp arms, lamp rod and lamp base are in the chosen surface. Both the lamp rod and the lamp shade are glossy lacquered in each version. The lamp shade and the lamp arms are made of aluminum, the lamp rod of steel. The cast iron base has a steel cover. An on/off switch is integrated in the cable. LED retrofit or compact fluorescent lamps are suitable as light sources.
