Inspired by the idea of chance - the uncontrolled shape created by a falling cable - the Signature luminaire looks like a three-dimensional drawing in space.
The combination of a soft cable connected to a springy, circular structure in plain black gives the viewer the impression of a random, continuous form. At the end of this construction is an elegant, deliberately minimalist lampshade that fits perfectly into the cable cloud. If you change the perspective, both the shape of the cable cloud and the lampshade change for the viewer: from a cone to an angled rectangle.
With its asymmetry and ambiguity, the lampshade made of anodised aluminium underlines the casualness of the new pendant luminaire from Ingo Maurer and provides directional light with a GU10 bulb. The lampshade can also be touched without any problems. Even more important for the set of three: when combined with several Signature lights, the lampshade becomes a practical tool. By hooking a cable into the curved end, the lamps can be connected to form a joint constellation. For example, you can form a large cloud or bend the downlight to create an uplight.
